Deputy PM says sees no reasons to halt Russia–China air traffic

MOSCOW, Feb 3 (PRIME) -- Russia sees no reason to cancel flight connection with China, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova said at a briefing on Monday.

“We see no reason to close air connection with the People’s Republic of China completely,” Golikova said.

She also said that the charter flights, on which the Russian tourists are returning from China, can be suspended from February 14.

“We would like to reiterate that regular flights between Moscow and the four cities in China will continue,” she said.

“However, there are charter flights that return Russian tourists to the Russian Federation from China, we would like to stop them on February 14. So I am asking our people who are in China to make a responsible decision about their return to Russia.”

The number of people contracting coronavirus in China exceeded 17,200 with 361 dead. Almost 150 people fell ill outside China with 1 dead. The World Health Organization called the coronavirus outbreak a global emergency.
